traffic violation - buying the car

Let say,

I buy a car today. Yesterday, guy that sold me a car, made pass through red light and its still not updated to police database. I go there to transfer car license and after computer checking everything is ok. Guy left the country the very next day after selling.

What is going to happened if they (police) get report from speed camera or something else in a few days when I already become new owner of the car? Will they prosecute me for that?

I know that I wouldn’t have any chance to be responsible for that but here... everything is 'elastic'.

The traffic police are inundated with all sorts of excuses from motorists attempting to reduce their fines. If you are innocent, persist, provide all the evidence and you will eventually be given a fair hearing. Some people just give up and pay the fine because they haven't got the time or inclination to spend time fighting.
