Hi All, Just a recent update. Saudi license is no longer acceptable for exchange. Driving school is now required.

If I may ask....Since my former employer in KSA pay my license,I return to him my original license after they release me from my work for clearance purposes. Now I am working here in Qatar. Can I use the photocopy of my driving license to obtain a Qatar driving license?
PICTURES WITH WHITE BACKGROUND ARE NECESSARY OR I CAN TAKE THE PICS WITH BLUE BACKGROUND, AND WILL THEY GIVE MY ORIGINAL SAUDI LICENCE BACK OR THEY WILL KEEP IT.

my experience similar to mr. raazaa.
u need to fill the form with ur eye tested in any approved eye testing centre (one is at ground floor of lulu d ring road)
u need to present the original saudi licence & sumbit a copy of it
u also need ur employer's letter of approval.

I got my Saudi License converted into a Qatari one instantly without any tests. Though you'll have to give eye test and submitt 2 pictures with white background. Make sure you are wearing specs(reading glasses) in the pictures if you would be wearing them while driving too.
Its a fairly simple process.
and for permanent measure you can show saudi license and get permanent qatar license as well withot school and test
Saudi is member of GCC so you can even temporary use that in Doha as driving licence.
