Please can you tell me why there are road marking on the road, and why we have something that is called lanes,some roads have two (2), three (3) and four (4) lanes. Why do we have them????? anyone???? I stick to my lane and get hooted at for keeping in my lane in Madinat Khalifah interesting that I obey the rules of the road but get waved off by a local....guess after 20 yrs driving I need to do my driving test again...and better still I have never been in an accident that was my fault.. INTERESTING

The road markings are meant to make the roads look nicer. They have no other meaning.

may be u were in the left most lane and driving slow and the local wanted to go fast in his 4 x 4...
