This is an old bushman's trick from Australia, get yourself the following, 1) Litre of kerosene or white spirit, (white spirit smells better), 2) a bucket of clean sand or sawdust (sawdust works better), 3)a cup of fragrant, clear oil/or linseed oil if nothing else.
Mix up the litre of spirit with the frangrant oil/linseed, put into a bucket and add the sawdust until well mixed thru the Spirit/oil mix. The clear the area to be cleaned, and spread the mixed sawdust with spirit/oil over it, and then using a wide broom push the mix over the floor, being sure to cover evenly while sweeping pushing the sawdust. You'll normally find that the floor will be super clean, because the spirit and oil in the sawdust collects every dust particle and so on, and works a bit like a soft abrahsive on the marble. Allow to stand for say a hour after removing the sawdust to let the spirit dry up the floor and the oils make it shine.. yet it isn't slippery if you're not heavy handed with the oil ..
