Why not Limiting the Speed of Cars?

Most of the world countries fighting about speed while driving and it’s subject to penalties when speeding. If those sweat governments really want to stop this speeding to stop traffic accident! Why don’t they bring a custom law in there countries and not allow any car to run more than 120 KM/h? Let say Qatar if they ask TOYOTA to build a Land Cruiser which is limited to 120KM/h will TOYOTA say no. well if they sad so and I will say no to TOYOTA in Qatar…. That was just an example I have nothing against TOYOTA. I had chosen TOYOTA because Qatar is full of TOYOTA.

if the traffic department will require all cars to be fitted with a micro chip that is triggered only to record the speed onces it goes beyond the specified limit, (let's say 120 kph). and make it as as part of technical inspection requirements ( check this chip records every 3 months).. then all will abide by the maximun speed limits.

the chip i learned can be attached to the speed meter and officially sealed and secured. broken seals = more penalty.

they can outsource it locally or from europe or usa..

Hi, in Qatar accidents are not caused by the car or speed or bad roads or weather. accidents caused by stupid reckless drivers from what I see I can tell you the following:

- most accidents happened at low speed.

- not leaving enough distance between cars.

- getting out from parking without paying attention

for incoming traffic.

- side hit when some idiot change lane without

checking traffic on both sides.

- hit from behind on a light signal.

- so many accidents are caused by Qataris, and the last

increase of traffic fines was just to stop Qataris

drivers.

if you notice that they did not put the seatbelt until

the fine become what it is now.

a lot of accidents happened when the go to dunes

ridding and when the play "who is checking game".

- so many accidents are caused by Indians, Pakistanis and

Nepalis because they are used to drive to the left side

of the road, and they still confused for a long period.

if you notice sometimes when they want to cross the

road the look to the right side and that cause a lot of

hitting accidents.

- driving schools here concentrate on parking test and L

test and they forget that the most important thing is

to prepare the student to drive in the real world.

How? if everybody limit them self? instead of changing the product (cars).....it will be much better if we can do...just control our self..

Limiting the speed of cars would only be solving one of the many problems this country face...would be wonderful if you lived in an ideal society.

There’s no dilemma with the speed of the cars, the problem is how capable the drivers can drive safely, and so, if they know how to drive properly, I think there will be no penalties, traffic and accident.

There has been done plenty of research on this and it may actually cause accidents. Why not look to a Country like Sweden and learn from there. There accident rate is so low, that if applied to Qatar we would have had only 25 deaths on the Roads in a year. Why, because heavy fines discourage people driving fast, and it is also a much better understanding of Driving.
