Will US CD's and DVD's & Video games work?

I keep getting all kinds of info about voltages, pins, etc. I am boggled. But will the music, movies and games from home work? Our company provides TV and DVD player. My husband and daughter have Ipods. Will they work with a converter or plug thing? Should we bring hubby's stereo and speakers?

I just sent you a PM. Contact me through the website that i mentioned and I'll send you a copy of an email that I sent to a friend in Texas a couple of days ago. She was asking about what electronics to bring, what not to bring etc. I think it will help you out :)

Buy a DVD player here. They are dirt cheap ($30) but make sure it is 'multi system' (PAL/NTSC/SECAM) and 'Region Free'.

Yes, they will work if you get the right kind of DVD player here on Doha. There are some that won't, we had to take back two (the salesclerks insisted they were OK) before we found the right one. I think it has to say NTSC. If the one your husband's employer gave you doesn't work, just get one for about $80. Ipods, etc, should work fine. The stereo should work with a converter or it may be dual-voltage already. You will see the kinds of outlets in you house, then just go to Carrefour and get adaptors, easy.
