Senior Mechanical Engineer - Salary & Package
Hello all
I'm a senior mechanical building services engineer with 7 years UK experience with two of the top 10 building services consultants globally. I was born and educated in the UK and have a MENG in mechanical engineering. I'm working towards CENG status with CIBSE which I should submit by Feb 2014. I hold member level with ASHRAE.
I'm wondering what salary I should be pursuing and what benifit package?
Thanks for your comments
Jade03 thanks as you noted it depends on how your employer sees you and I may have 7 years experience but with the right exposure and responsibilities. I was told last year that I should be a project / principle engineer with my experience and the part I play in the company.
Thanks for your useful information above though. What package would you expect on top of the 30k? I.e. housing allowance, car allowance, flights home yearly, medical cover, life insurance, schooling....
Seven years recognizes you as an engineer and not for a senior engineer level. As per me it should be atleast 32yrs age & 10+ yrs of service, still it is how the employer understands you. Offcourse your nationality / passport will play a trump card, to me 30K should be ok. So dont get dragged by some stupid comments. Some people of other nationality are getting this package at the age of 45yrs.
It depends on the way the workstation looks to you. and it depends on how many years you have worked as an engineer.you can't give an exact amount by mind.
