Can I expect More

Hello,
I have been offered Senior Contracts Engineer post (Grade 14) in QP. Posting at Dukhan. The salary offered is QAR 16000 + 1000(TA)+ free accommodation at Dukhan. I am an Indian with 17 years of experinec in Oil and Gas. Presently I am working at Kuwait for almost same salary.
I have 2 school going children ( One of 10years and another 5 years). I would like to put them in Indian school at Doha.
Could any one please advice me as to whether there is any room for negotiation for more salary and Will I get permission to stay at Doha and commute to Dukhan everyday.

I know alot of ppl doing it ... but i will never let my child ride on the school bus in Qatar. Especially the route from Dukhan to Doha. Too bloody scarey ...
Most of the people in Dukhan we know, the leaving when the kids starting the big school because of similar reason.
Snehindana raised a good point about Indian education ... the school in Dukhan good school but they are only providing for british curriculum.
You can negotiate the salary before accepting the offer...they may come back with a bit more...but I don't think they will let you live in Doha and work in Dukhan….because most of them staying and working in Dukhan got kids studying in Doha..Moreover, they have their full fledged accommodation and other facilities exclusively for QP staff. Still you can try your luck.

Thank you for your prompt response. The school at Dukhan may be good. But, the curriculam is of IGCSE. My children are prsently studying in Indian CBSE curriculam at Kuwait and we would like to go back to India for Secondary education after few years. Again they need to follow CBSE curriculam in India. We feel frequent change in curriculam will affect their education if we admit the children in Dukhan school now. This is our problem.
Your valuable advice on this school and curriculam issue is highly appreciated.

why did u open another thread? i asked in your other thread what is wrong with the school in dukhan?
You should approach HR and ask them about this ... they might give you allowance to live in Doha ... but then you have to commute to Dukhan daily. 90 kms there and 90 kms back.
QP pretty strict with their offer, you can try to push for another ban higher but it wont guarantee.
