OT payable as per qatar labour law
By qatarlivinguser •
Hi, I work for a construction co. The working hours mentioned in my service contract are 8hrs X 6 days, all as stated in labour law. It is also mentioned in the contract that i will be paid OT if worked more than normal hours. I work 10 hrs every day, as required by the company by their memo to all staff. But the company makes no record of hours worked by their staff. Do I stand any chance for a OT claim in the company, in absence of worked hours record (Time sheet), but only with the company's working hours memo?
If your basis for working 10 hours everyday is your company's memo then you are not entitled for OT as there is no timesheet recorded and what will be their basis in calculating the extra hours you have worked for the period covered. In my opinion, your company is violating the labour laws. They should maintain a timekeeping record for OT.
