CBQ credit cards - reduced limits

A quick FYI - CBQ have reduced credit card credit limits as of the beginning of this year, due to the 'financial crisis'.
And not told anyone...

Same here - I was shocked when i checkd the balance credit thinking about the remaining huge sum i have to pay.. thats when i realised the limit is been reduced... that was a relief...

YES they have done without any notification, me too

... and yet I close my HSBC account 6 months ago and they still inform me by SMS of every little thing!

here in doha they have done or changed lots of things and not inform you, nothing new there......

Yes it is so strange...that without any information they reduce the limit, if you would go and shop thinking your limit perhaps you would have to be red face....
My credit card limit also had been reduce last year itself. I called the bank and they were not aware of it themselves. Strange that last August the bank sends me a letter saying I am a good customer and increases my credit limit without asking me, now they reduce my limit without asking me as well.. Strange..
Hmm so that makes me spend less now..

I spoke to a very nice lady at CBQ -
1. no one received any warning (she must have apologized at least 10 times!)
2. it was a blanket reduction for all customers!
I thought the financial crisis hadn't affected local banks... To be honest, the reduction doesn't bother me much, but I'm surprised they did it in secret. Maybe they thought no-one would notice ;-)
I'm off down to CBQ and take out all my money, buy a spade on the way home and bury it all in the garden!!!!
