Dear all,

I am 39 years old electronics engineer, with 16 years experience in projects and contracts management also I am a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP) as well as many professional certificates.
Personally, I have wife and 3 Kids (12y, 11y & 6y) all of them are in schools.
Recently, I have received an offer to work in Qatar as a Branch Manager for a Telecommunication Co. they asked me how much expecting the salary.!!!???

Please advice me:
1) How much fairly should I request for this job (Qatari average salary for similar positions)?
2) It will be enough for accommodation, medical insurance, schools, car, living, entitlement for THREE KIDS, yearly vacation, and SAVING ~QR 20k/month.

Please please advice me because I have to reply by tomorrow and you are the only people I found to ask and I confident with your series replies.

A good salary is a competitive one in your country plus 25%, plus housing, medical, schooling, transportation allowance and annual tickets for all. We probably can't give you an "average" figure for the job here, it's up to you to decide what you would come for.

Thank you all for your help,

What level of schools for 12000?

There is any medical insurance policy?

And home allowance policy, if so how much?

For such job position how much average salary in Qatar?

Qatar is small country, but is it enjoyable for families?

I understand that overall living cost for my family around 25k/month (midlevel lifestyle, small villa, schools medical ...etc.), am I right?

Don't accept below 35k as you are joining manager post. 35k is reasonable for everything including good savings.

I think you must demand a salary between 30 to 40 thousand minimum. As the above answer shows the expenses, which's is absolutely correct. Good luck man!

I don't know from personal experience, but from what I've been reading 8000-12000 won't be enough for proper housing, only a small apartment. With 3 kids and a wife you will be wanting a villa and I think they go for at least 15k a month. In general for most countries you spend about 1/3 of your wage on renting. So that would calculate a decent wage of about 45k a month.
