Hi everyone.
I am european 30 years old with 1 year exp.. in the oil industry.
Have been offered a contract as a service engineer, 16k +8k, medical and car.
Pleas let me know what you guys think of this offer?
Thx
Good offer considering your education and experience level. However I would advise you to nagotiate futher if possible because you may not be able to do so after joining. Labour rules are such that you may not be able to jump to another job in same country without No Objection Certi.from your present employer. If failed to obtain NOC from your present employer while leaving the job, your entry shall be banned for 2.5 years.
I just explained above for your information only not to scare you. When I came I was not aware of all these so thought to share it with you if you are not aware.
Offer is really good and you will be able to save good amount. Wish you all the best.
Thanks for your info Baldrick, I'll surtainly try!
If 16k will get you more in your pocket back home then it's enough. I'd try and push for another 4k though as 8k will not get you much by way of what I would consider decent accomodation.
A good friend of mine is a service engineer and he's on around 24K PLUS accomodation! He does have a lot more experience though.
