electric stove vs gas stove
We have to buy a new stove. currently, we are using gas stove. We were looking at buying electric stove. so if some one can share their experience of using electric stove .. Is it true that if one has to do heavy cooking like making indian/pakistani dishes,,electric stove doesn't have powerful stove plates?
No doubts electric stoves are convenient as we never experienced power failure here.
You don't have to wait for gas cylinders & no worries about changing it. It doesn't produce carbon, so, good for your utensils as well,
but, if your meals require open flames then it's highly irritating & you can't make 'chapaty' on an electrical one too:(
So, my recommendations to a combination one ... a stove with 2/3 hot plates & 2/3 gas burners:)
Technology has actually made the gas and electric stoves on par with each other. Actually, a lot of new and advanced cooking ranges use gas, because cooking with gas is more accurate. The cook can control the correct quantity of heat under a pot, and this is almost certainly gas’s main benefit over electricity.
Gas stoves usually have sealed burners, which reduce dirt and spoilage on the cook top if something spills. Solid-top electric ranges contain the radiant heat element below a glass or ceramic top. In this case, it is easy to clean the top of the stove.
Electric stoves come with coil burners, and normally have detachable drip pans to take care of the problem, however, they look dull and dirty with recurrent use.
Gas stoves are realistic for those who live in areas where the principal source of power is propane or natural gas.
Both types of stoves have their pros and cons when it comes to efficiency. Even though electricity is a cleaner and cheaper fuel, food cooks faster and better in gas stoves. In recent past, steep rise in oil and gas prices has given a great chance to the electric stove camp to stake claim of being more efficient. On the other hand, the gas stove camp has started promoting the use of pressure canners which make the use of gas stoves more efficient.
