women protest display of inner wear.

A group of women here have took strong objection to open display of female inner wear in shopping centres and malls.
In a memorandum to Home Minister R R Patil, the Chief of the Consumer Protection Cell of the Thane District(Near Mumbai) K Vrushali, has demanded immediate action on such establishments who display women inner wear on mannequins and busts.
Such display of undergarments comes in bad taste as it affects teenagers, youths and elders moving around in shopping areas, Vrushali said in the memorandum.
She demanded that the government puts a ban on such displays and take action against the concerned shop owners.
The copies of the memorandum have also been marked to the Thane Police Commissioner SPS Yadav with a request to ask the police officers in the Commissionerate to act immediately.
Few months back Hammas in Gaza did instruct shop keepers to avoid such display. Ref.Ql thread & comments.

The more you hide something, the more the desire to see it, so if they can't see it in shops they may try to see it on people, in back alleys, parks, anywhere !!!!

Display it openly, so that it becomes common place then no one will look twice, unless that is what they are shopping for or they are a pervert in which case lock them up, as whether it is on display or not will not bother them.

as it is women who have protested, it's probably just that the window displays are for a size 8, and not a size 18, and they either know they wouldn't look good in it and are jealous, or they don't make it in they size (probably because they wouldn't look good in it)

You got a point there brit, but i assume the elders should give suggestions to the shop owners as to how lingerie should be displayed.

I think she means that elders are very conservative and may be embarrased by seeing lingerie on display...

Soo...as mentioned above, it affects teenagers, youths and elders...maybe they should make every Friday "teenage, youth and elders " day only....and the shopkeepers could put black sheets on their windows so the wares are not visible. All the other people seem to be not affected by it...so they can happily shop on all the other days. simple, non? ;)

Only by creating a sense of personal responsibility and a consciousness of freedom can we insure that our world will not slip back into slavery.
