I need correct answer, my question is; last year I took emergency leave on 14, 15 & 16 on December 2009. Due to Independence day on 18th December, and it was on Friday, so Thursday was also holiday. In this case my salary will deduct only for 14, 15 & 16 or even 17 & 18 also. Please I need help.
Friday is compensation for a week continuous work. If you will not work on Thursday and Saturday, the company have the right not to pay you Friday, even it was holiday. If you worked before and after the holiday, you have the right to be paid for the holiday also.

Could the days prior to the holiday have to be worked to qualify for holiday payment?
