Hi all,

I'm moving to Doha soon and wondering whether there's some kind of dressing prohibition or even law for female in public? (eg pants or skirt lenght, colors and etc. And is there curfew for women to be outside? And whether drinking alcoholic drinks is prohibited?

Your answers are appreciated.

Thank you for all answers. Already arrived here but havent gone outside to observe the city just yet. I'll try to put on long sleeve shirt and pants first.

Think my IP at homewas blocked from the site for some reason, kind of confusing! Anybody knows why? I'm now using a wifi from Qatar accommodation and the site became accessible again.

"You can wear whatever you want,???

Oh! yeah, really?

...as long as it is sensible, modest, and not revealing.???

Well, get a Burqa-clad, and underneath wear whatever you like.

End of confusion.

No, there is no "prohibition" as long as your not wearing a mini-skirt or cut off jeans you shouldnt have any problems. You can wear whatever you want, as long as it is sensible, modest, and not revealing. Go out have fun, its the safest country in the world.

It's almost a free country so you can dress whatever you like as long as you're in the right place. (e.g. bikinis on the beach, miniskirts on parties, casual/formal in the office, etc.) However, you still need to dress decently. Any color is fine. There's no curfew at all unless your company accommodation has one. Alcoholic drinks are for people with license and you can obtain them from hotels only.
