Muslims calls for MORE US world intervention
I found this story alarming, particularly because many of the world's leaders are at the conference. I completely disagree with it.

The head of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference yesterday called for the US to be more active in solving conflicts in the Muslim world, in particular the long-running dispute between Israelis and Palestinians.
In a speech to open the US-Islamic World Forum, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, secretary general of the OIC, said the Middle East peace process should be the cornerstone of US-Muslim world relations and called on Washington to take a “more active role in seeking solutions to conflict-ridden situations in the Muslim world.”
Why do they want help from somebody the people despise???

Most of the world feels pity for them too!
Thats for frenchieman.
You don't agree with this forum??!! They want PEACE! What do you want WAR???? Somebody has to undergo CT scan, maybe their brains are already shrinking.
I feel Pity on our Arab brothers!! Why the heck they need to seek help from U.S. Don't you urself posses any power?!
Nothing wrong with hope.
Indeed its a refreshing change and one can now hope for the best!
Uranus1,
I was just being naively hopeful.
It was a nice thought though ;)
Give it time nic. The West will be blamed regardless of what happens in the end.
The Peace Process has been stalled and collapsed many times,so this meeting is basically to restart it again.
American foreign policy has seriously hurted or tarnishned the image of the United States in the Islamic world severely.President Obama has worked hard to improve those relations firstly.
Like always after starting the thread he will disappear and comment using another id
His main point and the gist of the speech was for the US to "hasten" the Middle East Peace Process.
As for other matters - Ihsanoglu urged the United States and other Western countries to allow "change to come from within" in the uprisings, which he called "revolutions from the people themselves."
"The whole world should help them without forcing a solution" on them.
One of the many positive things coming out from the Arab Spring is that not only the west is not being blamed for their problems, but also they recognize in the west opportunities to seek help.
This is a great opportunity to establish peace between the 2 "civilizations"!
