Salary Deduction

My friend is employed in a Construction company and they have deducted 35 percent of his salary without explaining the reason. Could anyone help him as to what possible measures he can take to fight this injustice?.He has not accepted salary. If he accepts partial salary with notes "disputed salary", can he fight the case later because the company is buying time and he does not have resources to sustain himself. Please advise.

Maximum deduction can be 5 days basic salary if I recall correctly. Atleast that's what our HR told us. I faced salary deductions every month as I never reached office in time :P

If they have deducted more than that then he can go to court. Meanwhile no harm in accepting the rest of the salary.

Mikeo, thank you for your contribution in this thread but from now on, please avoid posting in ALL CAPS as that is the same as shouting and is not considered very polite, according to generally accepted etiquette rules.
