NOW HE IS ASKING ONE MONTH EXTRA RENT FOR LEAVING THE HOUSE AND HE IS SAYING THAT HE WILL GO TO POLICE. SO PLEASE TELL ME WHAT CAN I DO FOR THAT BECAUSE HE IS CALLING ME AGAIN AND AGAIN AND DISTURBING US. MY WIFE IS ALSO SACARRED ABOUT THAT PERSON ,PLEASE TELL ME THE WAY HOW I CAN PROCEED.
THANKS IN ADVANCE AND I M WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY.
Subleasing a part of the house is usually based on trust. So talk to him and try to convince him that it is not possible for you to pay the rent anymore.
If he still continues to nag you, turn the table around.
Tell him you are going to call the cops and complain that he has been constantly calling you up and harassing you. Simple.
As long as you do not have any documents tying you to the apartment, you are safe.
Try the nice guy route first and if nothing works out, Play D BAD GUY !!!
All the best. Cheerios
There must have been a computer glitch (or was it me?). This is my answer to your question because the previous box is empty.
Law No. 13 of 2011 applies to companies and businesses or individuals acting as middlemen of real estate properties for the purpose of selling or leasing. In your case, you were only shared a flat or room by the tenant of the flat without a formal agreement. In the contract of the tenant with the owner, there's a clause which limits the subleasing of the property but it may be possible through mutual agreement with the property owner or manager. Nevertheless, the tenant is liable to the owner if the flat was subleased without the latter's permission, and he has no legal hold on anyone whom he shared the flat or room with as the case may be. You may reverse the situation to the police citing that the tenant used threat and intimidation which has caused you mental anguish (but I guess this isn't necessary at all for you).
Law No. 13 of 2011 applies to companies and businesses acting as middlemen of real estate properties for the purpose of sale or lease. In the query case, the man was only shared a flat or room by the main tenant which was not covered by formal agreement. In the tenant's contract there's a clause limiting the sublease of property, however it is possible with the consent of property owner or manager. Nevertheless, the main tenant has no legal hold on anyone sharing the flat or room as the case may be, but liable to the owner if the flat was subleased without permission of the latter. The man may reverse the situation turning it instead against the tenant who subleased the flat to him, by reporting to the police the threat and intimidation which has caused him mental anguish (although I don't believe this is necessary).
