I have been offered a teaching position in Doha with a monthly salary of 8,500 QR. Accomodation is provided. is this a good deal?
I am a UK based teacher.
I have 4 yrs teaching experience in the UK. I hold a BA (jobs) and a PGCE . I am qualified. The school is the Cambridge School in Doha. The contract includes a flight home plus accomodation in Doha. I had expected more to be honest.

Try bargain with them,I am sure they will reconsider it.In more than 50% cases they increase in Qatar. Not harm to ask them to reconsider. If they say no then say yes!
Which school you have offerd?Have they given you yearly flight to home for you and a dependent?
That's a pretty poor salary for a UK teacher. Other western based schools will double that salary. The other problem is that with that salary, you won't have a very good standard of living and you probably would have pretty poor accommodation as well. The other parts you need to worry about include education (UK standard education would eat more than half your salary), health care and a trip home per year.
Depends on your qualifications and experience, if you have neither - then it's a good deal. If you are certified to teach in the UK - it's probably about 25-50% less than you can get a a real British based curriculum K-12 school.
