Financial Operating Officer package

Hi,
I have a bcompt degree, articles and 8 years experience. Im in the process of discussing my remuneration package for a fairly new company in Doha. The position in financial operating officer. The package includes accommodation. What sort of figure should I be looking for with regards to the local market rates and with cost of living in Doha in mind? How many leave days should one receive a year. Are there any other allowances which are standard for such position?

Many thanks,

Finqat

If you're setting finance and operations up, and if it expected to be a fair sized company, then I'd hold out for at least 30k to 35k package (depends on what other candidates are in the picture. Remuneration does vary significantly depending on nationality.

Your requirements will also depend on whether you envisage having children at school here - it's HUGELY expensive. I'd be happy tp take this offline and give you a more comprehensive picture.

Hi Boer,

Thanks for this. Yeah they a fairly new company and would be looking at me coming in and running the financial and operations side of things.

How long have you been there for? Are you too in finance?

If so, you should be looking at a basic of 20k+, housing of 12k and transportation of at least 2k. As a Saffer, anything less and you're being given one up the .....! If it's middle management then take about 75% of the above numbers.
