Fair offer for a structural engineer?

Hello all,

I recently received an offer for a structural engineering post in Doha. Details listed below:

Basic: 16000
Allowance: 6200
No flights back to home country

Is this offer reasonable for an engineer with 6-7 years of experience? I am from the USA and possess my USA license.

I am under the impression the high cost of living will eat into half of my package despite the tax free earnings. At the moment it does not seem that enticing to uproot myself from my current location.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks.

What you are making now plus 25% plus housing, transportation, schooling, flights, medical.

Thanks for the advice! I already have a job right now, so I am not in any pressure to take this position. All I want is a fair package with a reputable multinational company. The offer is a from a large UK based multinational consultant.

So what is a fair FULL PACKAGE for someone of my experience working in the infrastructure sector (bridge/tunnel/stations)? I possess a Masters degree and have worked in the US/UK/and now Hong Kong.

i would like to ask you something??? why are you moving from USA ro Qatar? second, do u presently have another job? if this is the only offer u have then accept it, now what ground details are, am also a Structural Engineer hired by a firm operated by Pakistanis, and my package makes up to 9k QR and my experience is 3 years, now firstly it depends who hires u i meant in which organization? secondly, are you a fmaily man? moving here with family? well if u ask me, if ur foreign qualified and worked in USA with the experience of 6-7 years then ur minimum salary should be 25k QR but again it depends upon the firm ur hired by??whats the organization name??

Heck no! And it's illegal not to give you a flight home. Remember, it's only federal tax free if you meet certain qualifications, not automatic.
