How do you vote ?
Been watching the start of the "conventions" and listening to the speeches. Michelle Obama was awesome - great orator - BUT , is it all smoke ?
Fascinated by the way we percieve our politicians..
So, my question: How do you vote ? Do you vote for the person or the policy ?
Do you vote at all ?
Note: please don't sidetrack to middle east politics and system :O)
It's not like how we find that kind but it's the matter how we push them to do so.......
Policies can be define by anyone but they are done by few So we must vote person who really deserve it,Not to a policy which can be only in words but not in deeds.
It's all smoke and mirrors. When you get right down to it, there is only a marginal difference between Romney and Obama in terms of policy. It's not as if either is proposing a radical shift in American foreign or domestic policies--massive taxation to eliminate poverty or changing allies or dismantling the military. IMO it does not really matter who is elected. Besides, the president can't even pass his own policies; he needs Congress, which prevents anything innovative from being introduced: as the saying goes, "none of us is as stupid alone as we are together."
I don't vote.
Manmohan Singh is a wonderful politician with superb vocabulary , but not a great orator..
I think I am too cynical. I watched the speeches at the Republican convention and also Michelle yesterday. Both came accross as overacted and contrived.
Listened to Boris Johnson yesterday. What a man :O)
i think currently US model of direct election (of executive head) is much suitable, probably we kept GB model for obvious reasons,
yep, fact is I'd vote for a friend/relative, perhaps i'm liberal/flexible in my political approach.
It's a good model. Vote for the policy and not the person.
I am intrigued about your other statement though .. let's say you are a conservative. Would you then vote liberal, because a friend or relative was running ?
I vote (actually voted earlier) based on my political inclinations except when the contestant is somebody known/relative is not in the fray; in that case I vote for him/her on personal basis.
PS: we directly don’t vote for president/PM, it’s Westminster model.
