Oxford English School
My wife teached at this school and I thought it's good to share her experience over the past few years.
Teachers are expected to prepare teaching material, prepare the classroom for teaching, plan a curriculum for the year, contribute to the school events, teach without teacher assistants in early year classes, attend to extra class actvities, etc.
Most of the teachers are non sponsored and get paid ridiculously poor salaries. When a teacher leaves the school the correct end of service benefits(leave pay, holiday pay, etc)seldom get paid out which leaves teachers very disappointed and bitter. In addition to this teachers don't get their monthly salary payments on time. The Qatar Labour laws seem to favour this unfair labour practices.
I think the owner of the school should get a an appropraitely qualified Principal for the school and set a standard livable salary for differnt type of teachers, admin and support staff. People should be paid for output(what they deliver) and not from which country they come from.
File a complain and let see if the labor law will take its course.
Update is...
Sadly, for them the Mgmt/owners, it's business not the mean to serve society by providing good education to next generations.
I tell you what: there is a law, called The Labor Law. It explains what salary is and when it has to be paid, and it also explains what end-of-service gratuity is, and when it has to be paid. Now, if the teachers don't get either one they have the right (the obligation) to take the school to court!! I wonder why this doesn't happen.
