As the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup heats up, the Supreme Committee of Delivery & Legacy (SC) will host a free Brazil 2014 Fan Zone in Katara Cultural Village from June 28 to the final on July 13.
The area will see a 10m panoramic screen set up near Katara Beach, where as many as 1,500 football fans are able to sit and watch matches in a purpose-built open air venue as they are televised live throughout the month of Ramadan.
Tickets can be booked by logging on to the SC website at www.sc.qa and filling in the registration form.
The Brazil 2014 Fan Zone will showcase a prototype of the innovative cooling technology that Qatar is developing, in another important step on the SC’s journey to delivering an amazing tournament in 2022.
Speaking on the launch of the Fan Zone, SC Secretary General Hassan Al-Thawadi said: “It is a key milestone for the Supreme Committee as we prepare to host an amazing FIFA World Cup in 2022.”
Spectators will be treated to football activities and family entertainment and are able to preregister online for a seat through the SC website.
Restaurants dotted around the cultural village are also getting in on the action with screens of their own fixed on World Cup coverage shown on beIN Sports Arabia.
The Brazil 2014 Fan Zone is being delivered in conjunction with a number of key sponsors who are celebrating the event and providing key support for Brazil 2014 Fan Zone, including: KIA, the W Doha Hotel & Residence, who will be operating the concession stands, Qatar Tourism Authority and Qmedia.
