So close yet so far...Heartbreak for the fennecs
An exciting and undoubtedly,"the match" of the tournament so far. A game involving two nations with history at its helm, and so much at stake was never anticipated to be a lob-sided affair, especially with the attacking intent the teams have showcased over their previous matches. The skills, pace ,accuracy and before all the superb goalkeeping at display, was a delight to the eyes.
It was such a pleasure watching a game where every moment seemed destined to carry the glory of that inevitable goal.To watch a team who don't have much history behind them(except for that famous 1982 victory over the same rivals)giving some jitters to the opposition and aptly justifying the nickname they are associated with "desert foxes" was even more mesmerising.
The Algerians with such a bold performance have made their continent and a lot of people proud and leave the world cup with their chins up.
Is it a sign of an uprising nation?
And my question would have rather been .."Is it a sign of an uprising footballing nation?....This is what i meant though
Couldn't agree more, but what i meant was that Algeria has come a long way in terms of playing football,on the pitch they resemble any elite footballing team, despite the political turmoil that still exists back home.
