An Asian house maid allegedly drowned a four-month-old baby girl in a washing machine. The family accused the house maid of committing the crime, as she ran away from the home after the alleged crime, Al Sharq daily reported today.

The police caught the house maid, who was on the run from one of the shops at Salwa road.

The family said that the incident happened on Tuesday morning when the mother went for an appointment at Hamad General Hospital and the father was away at work.

The case has been transferred to the concerned authorities and the initial tests attributed the death of the baby to asphyxia. [The Peninsula]

Just as an aside. I am always amazed at some of the Ads on QL of parents looking for child minders. Funny that they would trust their most valuable asset to a complete stranger being paid very little money.

may her soul rest in peace.. well my opinion is parents do have responsibility as being parents , along with they do have responsibility to be kind & supportive to there servants too. there are so much cases we hear about injustice with poor maids & house workers. curse comes itself to you when you are unhuman & unfair to anyone.
