Indian engineer loses life after motorbike accident near Umm Salal
Tragedy struck an Indian engineer as the bike he was travelling in skidded and hit a road divider, leading to his death.
Sajjad Ali, the 28-year-old Indian expatriate from Kerala, was on his way to work at the Umm Salal Ali area. He was an engineer at a private firm and is survived by his wife Shaniya and a one-year-old child. Relatives said that he will be buried in Doha.
This is the second death involving a bike rider in a fortnight. A local youth was killed in a motorbike accident near Al Thumama Signal earlier this month.
Slow drivers are normally a headache when you wish to reach somewhere on time ............ ........
Mobile call might be the culprit in the incident too ..............
Acchabaccha: I am surprised thata Harley would burn rubber , since they are usually cruisers and not prone to wheel spin.
As for biking being dangerous.. Yes it can be. Remember that there is also dust / sand on the roads here , which can cause bikes to slide.
Bikes are not safe anywhere.
The other day I was waiting for transport at Al Waab Road when two motor bikers in their Harley-Davidson "flew" passed me within a span of 10 minutes. They left behind the putrid smell of burning tyres. It made me wonder what caused their tyres to burn.
In my country, engine oil drip down on to the roads from old, damaged buses, rickshaws, cars etc. and when the city receives some light rain, the roads become as slippery as ice for the motorbikes. Many of them slip, hurt themselves or even lose their life. But then having said that, it is the most convenient form of transport keeping in view that is fast and also the cost of gas.
A young man leaving behind a young wife and child is one of the saddest things I find in life...it just hangs heavy with the weight of unfulfilled love, dreams and promises and doesn't bear thinking about...hope the wife and child find a loving second chance and can pick up their lives and move on...sigh...what a bummer, wish I hadn't logged in today..
Heartbreaking. It is not safe to use bikes here.
Tragic. May his soul rest in peace.
acchabaccha: No need for sadness. He has gone to meet his maker
It is indeed very sad to see such a young man leave the world and may his soul rest in peace.
Dear All,
Please take extra precaution on this road. I witness many accidents in this road as I am a regular traveler.
Four wheels are flashing, Big trucks are horning, Many fast driven cars, etc.,
Some time I see some group of vehicle running very fast together.
Please keep 100 % on the course while driving.
May he rest in peace and may his family have the strength to bear his loss...

I dont know why these bikes are being used as replacement of transport to commute. These heavy bikes are having some specific purpose , beyond that the use is recomended to be prohibited. Human life is most precious.
