Hi all,

I have been offer 33 K QAR as basic salary (after an initial offer of 25 K QAR) + house + transportation and utility allowances?

should I accept or make a final counter offer?

is this a good salary for a family with one baby  child?

thanks for everyone's support.

Absolutely is really good package, usually is for higher profession and experience I assume, keep in mind there is no tax.

Food with family perhaps Qr2500-3000

Experience and eat out max QR 1500-2000

So you have Around 28k left ! How much back home pays you for the same job ?

@Matthe, first of all congratulation for the job offer!

As for your question, it is hard to say because it is really based on what the profession and company you applied for. Obviously you have well negotiated so most likely they need you, that alone is great.

Generally speaking, it is a good package for a small family and you will save most of your income. So, based on the info you have provided I would say go for it. Now, if you are willing to share more information as in your profession/speciality and/or company I can give you a better insight as your package can be good/average or low based on these factors.

Good luck and welcome to Qatar!

Look at this way: You will be spending around QR 1500 for your food if you eat in the house, another QR 250 for your petrol, add another QR 500 for miscellaneous expenses. The rest of the salary remains in your pocket.

"Is this a good salary?" Ha! Ha! Go and ask the labourer who works in the scorching heat with daily average temperature hovering around 44C, and then not getting paid his salary of say QR 1500 for several months straight.

Such high salaries plus perks are usually for Westerners coming over to the Middle East.
