Qatar has prepared eight stadiums that will host the exciting World Cup matches. Every popular city of Qatar has the FIFA World Cup Stadium. Our focus is on the Al Thumama Stadium in the area of Al Thumama in Doha.
The 40,000-seater, Al Thumama Stadium was inaugurated for the 49th Amir Cup Final on Friday 22 October 2021. The Amir Cup is very close to the heart of all Qataris, and there couldn't have been another occasion to inaugurate a stadium that deeply represents the local culture in its structure. The stadium has a prominent circular structure that is basically the life-size form of the gahfiya – a traditional woven cap adorned by men all across the Middle East for centuries. It is a beloved part of Arab family culture that symbolizes dignity and independence.
Located 12km south of Doha's eye-catching skyline, Al Thumama Stadium will host FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches up to and including the quarter-finals. Al Thumama stands perfectly between the areas of Al Thumama and Nuaija so the surrounding of the stadium pretty much consists of these two residential areas. The residents of Al Thumama area and the surrounding areas, witnessed the making of the grand stadium and the surrounding facilities come to life. Now, with the world cup just months away, the residents are also ready to welcome the event.
Living near a stadium, hosting the FIFA World Cup matches, would definitely be something you would happily tell people about in the future. Apart from the increase in traffic and a rush of people in your neighborhood, the celebratory atmosphere will be the best thing to experience. During the match days, your surroundings will be filled with enthusiastic fans chanting and cheering for the teams they support.
