family visa procedure

Hello everyone,

I applied for Family Residence Visa for my wife here in Qatar last week. When I go to check the visa status on MOI website the system asks me to enter the Application Number and Application Date, QID Sponsor number and to choose the type of visa Residency or Visit. If I select Residency as the visa type the system says Type of Visa is not valid, please Try again. However if I check Visit as the visa type the system the system says Status: Ready to Print. Visa Ready to be printed, please visit the nearest service center to pay fees. Does this mean that they have made a mistake and approved a Family Visit Visa instead of Family Residence Visa? Or is this the visa that I get and then I convert it Residecy Visa once my wife is here?

Any information regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hello every one

My family is here in Qatar on visit visa which is valid up to 21 November 2015. yesterday i got family visa for duration of 5 years. my plan is to exit on 5 th November 2015 to india and come back on 29 nov 2015 on family entry visa.

as my family visa approved, I went to immigration office in garaffa and paid 200 QAR each for my wife and child family visa charges. I got the copy of family visa. also there is another 500 QAR per person charges, that I didn't paid yesterday. as I mentioned above I will exit and will enter on family entry visa with family.

so, my question is, is there 500 QAR per person payment is required before exiting from Qatar..??

Please help..Thanks

You have to get your family on visit visa first and then upon their arrival get the medical for each family member from Medical commission and then apply for the permanent visa. You visit visa will be changed to permanent no need to send your family back.

You will be needing the below

1) no objection letter from your sponsor in Arabic

2) your Qatari ID

3) Your Marriage certificate attested by the ministry of foreign affairs in your country and then from qatar embassy of your country

4) Your wifes and kids passport copies with the visa page

5) your house contract copy

6) your Kahrama bill on your name (Copy)

7) Passport size pictures with blue back ground for each family member

8) your bank statements minimum three months

@althachi now that I have my wife's visa how soon does she have to enter Qatar? The visa was issued on 04 November 2013 and expires 03 May 2014. Is there a certain deadline before she can enter Qatar? I am planning of flying her here on or about 15 December 2014. Thank you very much of the valuable information you provided.

Your wife has to undergo finger print after medical.

Photograph has to be pasted on the application form. What did they say when you submitted?

This is a visit visa for your family. Once she arrives here, she has to go for medical and fingerprint to get residence permit. This is the procedure here. There is no mistake. Dont worry !

Print the visa paying the amount in any of the nearest service center and your wife can travel here with that visa.

Once she is here, visit the medical commission and have to undergo medical and after the result u need to go for finger print.. Once you get these things done, visit the service center again and pay the fee for residence visa. For 1 year it costs 400 Riyal and for 4 or 5 years it costs 900 QAR.

U need to carry your id copy as well along with her visa copy (which you got from service center), an application need to be filled with a recent photo and debit/credit card for making payment. Thats it.. in 2 minutes of time they will stamp the visa in passport.

All the best.

thank you althachi. according to your experience, what do I need to do once my wife is here?

By althachi• 5 Nov 2013 11:32
althachi

Nope..that doesnt mean its a family visit visa.. It is family residence visa itself.. Coz off late all the results were coming under visit sections.

Even I experienced the same, but I got family residence visa though it was under visit.

Hope this helps...
