HELP street cats get sterilized
There are a couple of street cats living in the back of my garden. The number of them is undefiable as they come and go. There has been one horrible vicious female, and she has been coming for years. Every so now and then she had babies and I tried to help her. Usually her babies were very unhealthy and died. Some I was able to get away from her and adopt. But now she has 5 babies. On top of that there are 3 other babies from an other cat. I feed them. But obviously they are unhealthy and if they live will increase the cat population even more. And the mothers are on heat again!
So after having read in the newspaper an article about the Qatar Cat Coalition who are helping the Municipality with the Catch, Treat & Release program, I did some research & was put in contact with Mrs Dorothy who was able to get me traps. The cat Coalition will provide traps so you can help round up & trap the cats & babies and get them sterilized FREE OF CHARGE at the government animal clinic at the parachute round a bout.
The Municipality is doing what they can, but many of us are in the habit of feeding strays, usually in the back garden, and the municipality concentrates on the garbage cans!
Remember the kittens have to be around 6 months old to be sterilized, but the ones I took this morning were sick & got antibiotics and will have to be trapped again when they are old enough. The problem is not only having too many cats but also the problem of the unhealthy ones & the risk of infecting your own pets.
So my dear pet lovers. Lets all do our best and help the Qatar Cat Coalition with their project.
The phone number of Mrs Dorothy is: 5880142 and she will advise you on how & what.
Good luck
