I have been to Midori Sushi with my family at the Pearl, beginning April 2012. The place was jam packed with other patrons. I knew a little bit of sushi dining from past experiences not only in DOHA but as well in Japan. Our waiter turned out to be really knowledgeable and helpful. He was the manager of the establishment. He carefully described each different fish on the menu of its' texture and taste. We were sold already! Amazingly, we asked him to take care of us. He brought out 4 tuna toros (belly), 4 fresh large prawns, 4 white fish with thin sliced lemon, 1 spicy tuna roll, 1 tempura roll, 2 tuna roll without wasabi (kids), 1 mix tempura. He even brought my kids free ice cream. My family and I were delighted! The dinner turned out to be a little pricy to have little ones around but I wanted to return for sure!

As I returned about a month afterwards, things have changed for the worse. The restaurant is now empty and there is a new manager there. He was not knowledgeable about sushi at all and this time around, the fish was not fresh at all. He assured us that they are fresh from Japan, but I wonder where does this smelly fish odor come from? It wasn't just the tuna but salmon as well. My kids had wasabi in their tuna roll, we ordered without and started crying. I asked the manager to change but he refused and told us that this is the policy of midori. I was furious! I took my family, paid the full amount of bill and we shall never return.
