School System
Programmes Offered at BFIS
B.F.I.S offers classes from Reception (age group 3 & above) to class XII. From class-VIII we have separate streams of Matric, F.Sc, IGCSEl, AS Level and A-Level classes. BFIS is affiliated with Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad. BFIS is the only Asian school, which is offering IGCSE to the residents of Doha. It is also one of the very few schools, which offers AS-Level and A-Level Classes. The school is a recognized exam and study centre of Edexcel, London Board, UK.
With effect from September 2000, a separate Junior school Wing with a capacity of 800 is already in place. This Wing is functioning in the main campus and caters for classes from Reception (age group 3 yrs to Class III).
A separate Girls Wing is functional since year 2002. BFIS offers separate girls and boys classes from II and onwards.
BFIS offers College classes (FSC) with effect from September 2002, offering Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical and General Science (Computer Studies) groups. The school achieved another hallmark by initiating AS-Level & A-Level classes in year 2007, as a registered centre for Edexcel, London Board, UK.
Academic Year
The academic year of the school begins in the first week of September and culminates with the third term exams in the start of June every year.
The school has three terms system, with First Term spanning over September to November, 2nd Term November to February and 3rd Term March to June.
1st Term exams carries 20% weightage, likewise 2nd Term carries 20% as well, whereas the 3rd Term carries 60% weightage towards the promotion to the next level.
