The QL Pathans on the Beach!!!
Let me start with a WOW! an awesome begining to an extend weekend! and then extending our thanks to Qatar Living (Qatari and Ahmad) for providing the platform and opportunity to have this beach gathering.
It was one of the most memorable gathering we all had since long time. Went to Fuwarait beach and spend the day there and enjoyed to our heart. Everyone had a great time. Thanks to all the QL and few non-QL friends for showing up and making this event sucessful.
I will let the picture do the talking.
-The first stop was Mount Fuwarait (Jabal-e-Fuwarait), a rocky hill where we all experimented with our our off-road driving skills.
-The preparations and the offloading. It was an awesome beach, got an excellent place (thanks to a kind hearted Qatari who towed out one of our car and showed us the best possible spot on the beach).
-The traditional way of preparing the fire for "Dum-Pokh".
-Dum-Pokh, A Pukhtoon's speciality dish of mutton prepared by steam. No spices or artifical flavor added. To avoid escape of steam from the cooking utensil, its sealed by flour. cooking time varies from 1.5hr to 2hrs.
-Part gang. Some of them praying for tasty "Dum-Pokh".
-The QL Pukhtoons showing their soladarity with Qatar on its National Day.
-A local Qatari and his skill along the beautiful beach.
-The Attan. A Pathan folklore warrior dance.
-The tasty Dum-Pokh reached its final destination.
An awesome time spent togather.
