India, 9th Largest industrial manufacturer in the world,
India is the ninth-largest industrial manufacturer in the world, while China has pipped Japan to occupy the second position, says a United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido) report. The USA, the world's largest economy, tops the list.
According to the report titled 'International Yearbook of Industrial Statistics 2010', the three emerging economies of China, India and Brazil are among the top 10 countries in manufacturing production. “Out of the top 10 countries in manufacturing production, two more countries from the developing world, namely India and Brazil, rank ninth and tenth,” the report says.
The leading three countries, the USA, China and Japan produce half of the world's manufacturing output, Unido said.
Germany ranks fourth, followed by France, the United Kingdom, Italy and Russia.

My Note: It's rather good note becoze recently Inds growth took a beating as compared to services, where india fares really good.
Another Note : study by BCG (bostan consulting grp)& CII shows if India can sustain 11% Ind-growth for 15 years it can reach to 4th place in most industrialized nations.
Another good News, as per Hewitt (Hr consultants), likely salary hike (in Indian Comp) in next FY is 10-11% : good sign
