Dogs in Doha hosts a fun filled afternoon for all animal and art lovers on Friday, the 26th of February from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Over 20 stalls and a chance to meet other pet owners and artists. All proceeds go to the Dogs in Doha rescue group.

Dogs in Doha is a rescue group made up of a network of foster families. The woman who started the group, has regularly hosted small fundraisers in the past but wanted to host a larger event this year. Local artists are invited to display and sell their work and to invite fellow art and animal lovers to join us. We're hoping to raise enough money to pay off the medical bills of five stray dogs currently staying with foster families and waiting for their 'forever homes'.

We're also hoping that the event will create an atmosphere where people who have an interest in the welfare of stray animals in Qatar can get together and start exchanging ideas. It will be a fun, light event, where people can meet other pet owners and people who are making a difference. Food and drinks will be available but feel free to bring a contribution of a snack or two.

Birgit's group started out very small, several families would take their dogs to a beautiful area in Al Wakra called The Mangroves to meet on Friday mornings and now word has spread and many more sub-groups of families are going everyday.
