Did QLSG move camp to Facebook?

Hi folks!

I left Doha for my holiday trip back to the UK on the night of 12 April, so the last social event I attended was the, very successful, Dhow trip (cut feet and all!).

Since then I have been kept informed of the many, many Social Group activities by e-mail - for which I'm very grateful because I love to know what's going on and being involved whilst I'm away from Doha.

However, although I know of the events I never get to see the 'chat' about how enjoyable the gatherings were! I really, really miss that!

What has happened? You all talk about it on Facebook? I don't use Facebook and have no wish to join it.

So, as a 'paid up member' of QLSG currently away from Qatar I am unable to join in the fun that I am missing.

What is the problem with posting all those wonderful post mortems of 'meet ups' on the Social Group site here in QL?

Why all the worry about who reads it? Why has QLSG become something of a Private Society????

I've noticed many of the original members of the QLSG rarely post in the forums any more. Does it all happen on Facebook now? Where's the loyalty to Qatari!?

New members cannot even access the SG to see how it thrives - what incentive is THAT to belong to QatarLiving!

I'm disappointed that the Group has become so exclusive - variety is, after all, the spice of life.

Just my personal gripe and I'm glad the SG is organising and enjoying so many 'events' these days, but if I were a new member I'd be hard pushed to know they even existed!

This postcard is sent with love from a cold, damp and dreary Bank Holiday Monday, here in the UK, which perhaps matches my humour ;D
