Converting Video for iPod
I really don't understand why companies like Apple and mobile telephone makers give you the ability to view video on their devices but don't let you do the actual viewing easily.
Most videos for mobile devices have to be in MP4 or 3GP format.
Here are some options to convert your avi and mpg videos.
iTunes:
Add the video file to your iTunes library, then choose "Convert Selection For iPod" in the Advanced menu.
That's the simplest way to do it but it is time consuming.
The other options are to use conversion software. These are all freeware.
3GP Converter:
Japanese program for Windows but English language settings included. Download here http://www.digital-digest.com/software/download.php?sid=475&ssid=0&did=1
ffmpegX for Mac:
Mac only conversion software.
