Apple is encouraging users of Quicktime to upgrade to the latest version due to a critical flaw which could allow malicious sites to execute code on your PC.

There is no patch. You have to download and install the latest version of the program.

I personally use Quicktime Alternative (Media Player Classic) to view Quicktime files.
