PS3 Firmware Update
Sony is rolling out a new firmware update for its much-vaunted Playstation 3.
The update adds DVD upscaling to 1080p, bringing the PS3 in line with other Blu-ray players in terms of functionality. The 1.80 firmware adds support for Digital Living Network Alliance 3 (DLA3) compatible PCs and laptops, which unlocks the possibility of streaming image, video and music content onto the PS3.
PSP owners will now be able to control their PS3 consoles remotely from anywhere in the world, providing both consoles are connected to a broadband Internet connection.
Sony has also added support for a selection of Epson printers. This will allow the user to print photos stored on the PS3’s hard drive or an inserted storage device.
