Deaf and dumb student subjected to ragging admitted in hospital
Pavaratti: It is alleged that a dead and dumb polytechnic students was roughed up by the seniors in the name of ragging at hostel. Nandakishore, 23, son of Venkidangu Padmanabhan, a first year Computer student at Sreerama Polytechnic in Thripayar had been admitted with injuries in whole body at Mullassery Block hospital. His mother Valsa gave compliant with Pavaratti police on the same. The incident occurred at 10 pm on previous Thursday.
Nandakishore joined for the course on Wednesday and seniors who came to hostel during Thursday night after undressing him compelled to remove his underwear too. Valsa said that Principal also promised to give compliant from the part of college too. Kishore had been studying with concession for handicapped from central government. Principal C S Rajan said that resident tutor had not informed the matter to him.
Pavaratti police handed over the case to Valappad police. A case had been register against 10 students who can be identified as per Anti Ragging Act. . Meanwhile CI CR Xavier said that though the police visited hostel as per principal's information a case was not registered then as asked by his mother and principal.
