hi, my old passport will expire in 4 months, and since it is mandatory for visa on arrival to have at least 6 months of validity on passport i am going to renew it on an 'urgent' case via my embassy. But unfortunately i won't have enough time to transfer my RP[resident permit/visa] to the new passport as i need to visit dubai urgently and the transfer process takes weeks.

My question is can i travel with my rp on my old expired passport and my new passport? and will there be any trouble in getting a visa on arrival from the immigration if i carry 2 passports? Both my rp and passport will have the 6 month validity with it.

if anyone can answer me quickly then i will appreciate it! i am making my travel in less then 4 days from now!

thanks

p.s i am a indian national and a gcc resident for over 14 years. My designation is an civil engineer.

An Indian colleague of mine & I have had this experience before travelling to Dubai from Doha, with no problem for getting the visa on arrival.

Obviously you have to carry both passports.

You also need a return ticket, & a company / sponsor letter as proof of your profession (especially if it is not mentioned in your RP)showing salary details. Without this they will give you a hard time to prove your professional status.

Best of luck !
