I appreiate comments and i agree with them too,but if it was taken in day light i would have applied rule of third, had i applied that time eighter most of the frame would have been dark nothing to see or back ground with semi constructed buildings with more yellow tint. Its more of potrate than scene,
I tried to fill the frame with sheraton and Q-tel tower standing begind it with blue light to get blue shadow on water One thing i could have tried to make the background blur. About yello tint, it could have been soften, i tried that too but that made photo little dull. I used Lumix FZ 50, and used simple Night scene mode, placed the camera on pillar ( at that time i didnt have tripod with me, set the shutter timer at 10 second ) pressed the shutter button. I didnt used manual option.
Ok, here goes! Firstly, it is a nice photo and the following is purely meant to be constructive. And I am by no means a good photographer, so feel free to ignore all I say!
- composition - the Sheraton is the subject of the photo but it's slap bang in the middle. Better to be to one side, following the "rule-of-thirds" or "golden-segment" rule. Everything to the left of the Sheraton is unnecessary (in my opinion).
- yellow tint - there is a definite yellow tint to the photo. I realise that it is quite "yellow" down there at night, but perhaps it could be softened by adjusting white balance.
- distracting background - the buildings behind the Sheraton take away from the impact of Sheraton itself.
Thanks, yes i do accept and i need constructive criticism of this photo or my any other photo, whitout critisim how one can improve, please your welcome high light flaws or criticise anyway you like
Are you accepting constructive criticism of this photo as well as compliments (I'd normally offer it without asking, but I seem to have been upsetting people lately with my rudeness)?
yes you can do that, you can have in different colours, and you can also give different effects too, but it would kill the originality of the photo and the moment captuted and essence.
thanks, yes with adobe photoshop you can do many things, but i dont know much about adobe photoshop, i just follow my instincts and basics of photography

That would be like the blind leading the blind Novi! Plus as DaRuDe keeps telling everyone, I'm too shy to actually meet up with people in real life.

gotchya..that would be very nice..
No, it would be a modern way of showing a picture in mant colours in one frame.........its being done in the USA and Europe and doing really well

I would like to see the same pic in 4 different main colours - red, green etc etc..........then framed Warhol style.
