Hello, I'm coming to Qatar this Sunday. I will only have one full day and night Monday then have to turn around and get back on a plane to Houston. I would love to know what I can do in a day and evening so I can see some of the city. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also what cost might be involved? Thank you so much!

Thank you all very much!! I actually was going to do most everything you all had mentioned (plus the gold souq) so I know I'm on track. Hopefully, I can maybe hire a car and driver or something when I get there for the day at least or just take a taxi. I will be leaving Houston here in a few hours to go to the airport to head over there. I have a laptop and will take it with me. I will check this site again.

Museum is free. I'd suggest Souq Waqif in the morning while it's a little cooler, lunch in one of the many Restaurants there, then the Museum in the afternoon when it's getting too hot outside.

The Islamic Museum on the Corniche is very interesting and not far from the Souqs which are also interesting. Not sure if they charge to enter the museum but I doubt if it's more than US10. A taxi from the airport to either would take about 10 minutes depending on traffic.
