Thank you for all your replies. I just got back from Manila last week via Qatar Airways and I was given a 40kg baggage allowance on my flight back to Doha...
What I am asking is if Philippine Airlines would do the same since they are operated by Qatar Airways...
It was indicated on my e-ticket (MNL to DOHA)=> 23 kgs; however when i paid my return ticket online, i have found out the baggage allowance for my return is 40kg. HTH
Don't accept their word that you'll get 40 kgs.& so on. It should be written in your ticket or telex message saying your allowed as such baggage allowance. Believe me, I had a lot of experience with our ground staff at NAIA regarding excess baggage. Just make sure you have it in black & white...no verbal. Even though it's been advertise in their website. It should be mentioned/written in your ticket.
I tried to call Qatar Airways since it is operated by them. I was thinking they might have increased the baggage allowance for Phil Airlines passengers too, since currently Qatar Airways increased their allowance to 40kgs for passengers from Manila (Manila-Doha flights). Of course I didn't get any info and was told to call PAL!
I was told by a local agency that a passenger gets 40kgs only if he/she has a round trip ticket with Qatar Airways.
