I never had any issues sending to mail to India. Better send by EMS or Registered mail. It takes maximum one week.
C'mon bulltongue be optimistic. My letters to Sri Lanka, Singapore and the UAE has always gone within one week. I use the Qpost branch at the LuLu Hyper on D-Ring.
If it is really important send it through EMS so that you can track your mail through the Qpost website.
The Qpost has always delivered my mail on time. Hope this helps and wish you the season's greetings.
