If you read ILQ or even go on YOUTUBE, you'd see that this project is delayed inevitably and probably wont happen in Doha. Perhaps Wakra or Lusail.

Why you ask? Because: when was the last time you saw a Qatari riding a bike?

It's the same reason they do not built bridges for pedestrians to cross roads safely. The locals have absolutely no need for such things.

The announce these things to make everyone happen, then it never happens.

Qatar is hotter than a blast furnace only for a part of the year not much of the year. That would be May-Sept.. The rest of the time there are absolutely beautiful temperatures hovering in the 20's by day

He seems to think the temperatures never rise above 30 during Feb - May.....lol....and no humidity either.....another indoor PS3 gaming freak!!!!

mist cooled....The plan as it is shown in the link ....looks impossible:

1. Its open on both sides - The sea breeze will blow away any traces of cool air away.

2. It looks to be floating in mid air...does it not require pillars?

The thing can be easily achieved if they encase the whole corniche strech (the walkable part + the gardens+ car park) from the roadside kerb to the Quay wall in Glass compartment. The Airconditioning & illumination can be handled by solar arrays laid on the top.

If they can achieve this and encase the gardens/parks in similar glass then it would be their greatest achievement as it will encourage the kids to take up sports.

plans r great when excuted in same way.

Every lady hopes that her daughter will marry a better man than she did. And is convinced that her son will never find a wife as good as his father did!!!

They'll get on to it soon. After they finish the new airport. And D ring road. And open the Islamic Museum.

And they know there is little point building bike pathes until after they finish fixing all the broken pavements and sidewalks, so just wait a few months for that to happen too.

This is part of their plan to extend the existing network of recreational facilities, like Palm Tree Island, and the new beach/shore line that is being constructed at great expense for public use near the Ritz Carlton and the Intercon Hotel.

Qatar is well known for such plans and then putting them on the back burner for years
