I wish to know if we can travel to Bahrain by Road. If 'YES', what is the route, formalities of Visa, etc... I am an engineer hence can get a Visa on Arrival for GCC countries. Wish to know if the same rules apply for travel by road. Thanks for the answers ...

BEST WAY GET RETURN TKT TO BAHRAIN AND YOUR PP AND EXIT PERMIT. YOU HAVE TO PAY 100 QRS FOR 72 HOURS VISA IN AIRPORT(YOU SHOULD HAVE VALID RP OF QATARMORE THAN 6 MONHTS)

OR GET TRANSIT VISA OF SAUDIA(WITH FEES)CHECKOUT AT SALWA BOARDER AND CHECKING ON YOUR ENTRY IN SAUDIA THEN DRIVE THROUGH SAUDIA AND EXIT FROM SAUDIA AND ENTRY IN BAHARIN(PAY VISA FEE AND TOLL) SAME BOATHRATION WHILE YOU RETURN. IS IT FUN?

You can do a search here for visa info.

For the route, head to Salwa, pass through the border. Follow signs for Hofuf. When you reach Hofuf outskirts there is a huge roundabout where they are building a new bridge. GO LEFT. This is very important. If you go straight you will end up in the centre of Hofuf and get lost! Going left takes you out by Al Ahsa Airport. At the airport roundabout turn right, then first left at the overpass, then next right at the major junction. From here follow signgs to Abqaiq (Sometimes written Baqaiq!), then signs for Dammam. Basically this is all one road with no turns! when you reach the outskirts of Dhahran/Al Khobar you will see an overpass above you with a sign for Bahrain. You will turn right and follow this road to the Causeway.

Note: There are no speed cameras all the way to the border, but occasionally the police will sit under a bridge with a radar trap, especially in Abqaiq!

Yes you can drive to bahrain, but i think its gonna be difficult to get a saudi visa then a bahraini visa. Easier just to fly to bahrain
