Second time to Doha ?

Hi everyone,
The first time I came to Doha was for my job interview and after all I got the job.
Now before we( me and my wife) decide to come over here for real, we would like to visit a second time the place.
We will stay in Doha for 3 days end of august, I know is not the best time but is the only space we have before I accept or not the offer.
So my question is where we can start to have a taste of the place as an expat lifestyle.
I already visited the shopping malls City Center and Vilaggio during my first visit alone but now I need to impress my Lady...
I will stay at the Sheraton Hotel, anything nice around there?
If I get a taxi where shall I ask him to take us for all the day around the city ?
Where is the best area to get a rented house for a family with 2 kids ? (housing allowances 13.000 R.)
Tks for the infos

I think visit also Sealine Beach. It's like 40 km from Doha, so the best is if you rent a car. Or you can take taxi, but it's more costly than one day car rent. City Center and Villaggio are the best places for shopping and entertainment. And probably Landmark.

To rent a house I think the best area is West Bay.
